When are you telling?

I'm only 4 weeks but with Thanksgiving coming up I think we'll have to spill the beans. It'll look pretty strange if I'm not having a glass of wine.

I've only told my best friend and my mom. DH told his mom. I really don't want to tell ANYONE else until after I have my first u/s which is on November 15. If everything is all good I will probably tell a few of my closest friends and my principal and secretary at work. I will probably wait until I am out of the first trimester to tell everyone else.

We told our parents, but that's it. I'm not going to make the 'big announcement' until we hear the heartbeat. 2 more weeks until the ultrasound (I'll be 8w2d).

We told our parents this weekend, and I told my best friend the day after we found out. We'll tell a few more people (i.e., grandparents and a few extended family members) at Thanksgiving. We have an appointment to see the heartbeat a few days before then. Finally, we will tell everyone else at Christmas.

We told my parents and sister because they knew we were going through infertility treatments. We'll tell MH's family when we see them in 2 weeks, which is after our 6w u/s. Everyone else we'll wait until Christmas, when I'll be in my second trimester. Work will be the last one to know .. which will be when I start showing!

I told my BFF yesterday and we'll announce it to everyone on Thanksgiving, I'll be almost 9 weeks by then. It's only been a week since my BFP and it's been nearly impossible to keep it a secret from my family, so I knew there was no way we could wait until Christmas.

We're waiting until after my first appointment on Nov 17, even though a bunch of my friends have decided they already know, so they may not be surprised. We might not tell them until 12 weeks anyways.

We're having my parents and brother over for dinner the weekend after our appointment to tell them. Then, luckily, we're going to visit DH's family in Ireland over Thanksgiving so we can tell them in person. After both the families know, we're going to tell some important friends, then tell 'everybody' after 12 weeks.

We're spilling the beans to family this weekend assuming everything looks good at our NT scan on Thursday. I think we'll wait to spill the beans to the world until we get the results of the genetic testing. I should be 13 weeks by then.
