I scheduled this appointment back in September, hoping I'd be pregnant by the time it came around (at the time I scheduled to have an annual). I called last week to switch the appointment over from an annual to a prenatal visit and shortly after realized that I will be just a few days shy of six weeks pregnant. I called back thinking I should reschedule but they couldn't get me in for another two weeks and I don't want to wait that long...
Will it make a big difference if I am just shy of 6 weeks?
Re: 1st prenatal appt. at less then 6 wks....
There probably won't be too much to see. My first appointment I was 5w6d and didn't see anything but a sack. My next was 7w6d and we saw the heartbeat...
I have my first appointment this coming Tuesday and I'll be 5w4d. My doctor told me it would mainly be a "consult" to get my medical history, answer any questions I have and to have blood work done. They probably won't be doing an u/s but I'm glad that I'm still going in just so I can get some face time with my doctor.
Even though it is earlier in the pregnancy and they may want you back again in a few weeks, I'd still go.
