So I'm in line today and some ladies are making over little man, "Oh he's just so sweet, oh so cute.." Next thing I know:

Man in line: "He's lucky red heads are always ugly"

Me: " So are overweight bald men."

 Come on people, how rude!

    b) I don't get people who say that. I think red head babies/kids are always the cutest! There was a small chance DD would have red hair. I really wanted that to happen!

    I am going to be unpopular her but YOU were rude. From the quote you gave he did not call YOUR baby ugly. Some red hed babies are not cute. (Yours is) but even if he had you really should have risen above it and not thrown a comment like that back. It brought you down to the same level.

    DD has red hair, I can't believe how much attention it gets her (thankfully all good so far).

    Good for you!  As a redhead, I thank you for standing up for us!  I think your little man is adorable.  I honestly don't get why people are so hung up on redheads, especially in such a demeaning manner.  I think they are just JEALOUS!!! 

    Like the PP, my mom says people were always stopping her in the grocery store when I was little...they would ask to touch my hair because it was so uncommon!  Freaky, but sweet I guess.

    pfft. A grown man making bigoted comments aimed at children with a specific hair color should be prepared for the repercussions.

    I realize he wasn't calling my little guy ugly, but he was generalizing that all other red heads are ugly.  I have red head friends, I have red head family, I know lots of red head babies. For someone to say that about ALL those people hurt!
