s/o Costco - if you belong, I have a question...

The post below has made me want to run out and join Costco this morning and get a bunch of stuff.  But I buy mostly organic food for me, DH and especially DD.  I usually go to our Super Target (which has a lot of organics) or Whole Foods.  Does Costco carry any organic stuff?  i.e. snacks, fruit, meat?

    Every Costco has slightly different stock, but I've only rarely seen organic produce at ours.  Lots of organic snacks, though.

    Yea, Costco is not too big on the organic stuff, I guess there is not a lot of demand for organic bulk groceries yet. Sometimes, I wish they had more whole wheat options too, like pasta, mac and cheese and bagels. You might be surprised though, you can go walk around and see if you like it. Just tell the ppl at the door, you're coming to sign up and you can get in... then if you like it, then you can join. Also I know you can get a coupon for some kind of membership discount too, so google that before you go just in case.

    I still just go to my local chain for our organic produce (and farmer's market in the summer); but the bulk for other stuff makes Costco worth it.

    And pretty soon those bulk diapers, wipes and formula are going to come in handy too.

    Like everyone said - it will probably vary by location. Our costco has a decent amount of organic produce - lettuce, spinach, carrots, apples, berries - lots of frozen/packaged stuff, organic chicken (I don't eat red meat so can't comment), organic milk.

    You can get a one-day guest pass to Costco to go in and look around.  Our closest one has some organic produce (not a lot), rarely has organic meat (although we've found it there occasionally), but has a lot of organic bulk & frozen foods (soups, salad dressings, canned veggies, etc).  Go check out your local store, and if you find that it has what you want, then you can pay the membership fee at the check-out counter.  HTH!

    I have not seen much if any organic produce at my Costco, but there is a growing supply of organic snacks like granola, fruit snacks, cookies.

    I buy a TON of organic stuff through Costco.  Chicken breasts, beef, cheese, yogurt, produce, pasta, soups and sauces, cereal, etc.  It must be dependent on the location - I'm in the San Diego area.

    ETA: milk, of course and they have a huge selection of organic frozen veggies and fruit.

    Yeah, my Costco in Florida has a similar selection. And the organic chicken is cheaper than the conventional chicken at my regular grocery store. 

    OP: Jealous! SuperTarget here has almost NO organic selection!!!

    As others have said, I think it varies by location... in Illinois, our Costcos tend to have organic boxed baby salad greens, spinach, strawberries in season, chicken, various chicken sausages (Amy's brand), carrots, and some tomatoes- as well as frozen stuff (green beans, broccoli, etc.), milk, butter, and lots of random soups, broths, chips, snacks, etc.  Definitely worth looking into- the prices are great compared to grocery stores.

    we have a ton of organic options at our costco, including produce.  i usually buy the organic salad mix and berries, and sometime apples.  my big problem with the produce is that a lot of times we cannot get through the really large quantities quick enough.  but i definitely prefer the costco organic milk over any other, and it's cheaper too.  i think i pay $8 and some change for three half gallons of kirkland organic milk.  and there diapers/wipes are pretty cheap too.  bottom line, we LoVe costco.  oh, and all their carts have two seats for kiddos,  so that is really the only store i plan to shop @ once LO #2 comes out.  lol!
