Hi! I'm new here! I am just over 8 weeks pregnant and am starting to feel like I need to live in a bubble... yes, this is my first pregnancy. My husband and I are doing some home renovations and today I decided to start sanding our steps. They have very light paint on them (from the painters overspraying the walls) and we want to stain them to match our wood floors because they are still in good condision... I put on a white mask and safety glasses and started with the electric sander... I know our house doesn't have lead paint (built in 1983), but after doing a few steps, I started getting worried that the dust might hurt the baby. Unfortunately, I know I ingested dust through my mouth, and when I blew my nose later, it was wood-colored (sorry!). I worked for about an hr on this. Do you think it could hurt the baby? I have officially retired from house projects as of today because I don't want to risk anything!!! Now I'm just worried and mad at myself!!! All the info I can find is related to the sanding of lead paint..
