Another bf'ing ?

How do you know if baby is getting enough from BF'ing on just one side.  I am trying to pump a supply so I can go run errands and DH can feed him.  I pumped a couple times yesterday but sometimes he still acts ungry after just one side.  Any good tips so he can get full on just one side.

Re: Another bf'ing ?

  • I would probably just feed him from both sides then pump afterwards, just for a little while until he gets a little older.

  • you could also rent/buy a baby scale so you can weigh him before and after feeding, that way you can see how much he is getting from one side vs how much he would eat if you gave him both.   You can get them SUPER cheap at baby depot in the supermall!

  • LO is probably going through a growth spurt....if he'll eat, feed both sides. Then just drink some water & pump both sides.

  • I would feed until he stops it.  So if he's still angry after one side, go to the next.  K was pretty clear when she was done or not.  [Now, at five months, she'll overeat in the mornings if I don't follow her first full cue.. and then proceed to puke it back up.]
