So I have about 45 pocket diapers, ad some PFs and covers and I have to wash about everyday. If I dont my diapers dont get clean since the washer is FULL. I have two in diapers so thats why. Im kinda wondering why I have so many diapers! I was washing every other day, and can really go every 2-3 days, BUT like I said, they dont get clean and i would have to do several washes to do so.
I think I may sell some of my older diapers that are still working great.
DS will be potty trained within the next 6 months or so, and then I will have about 50 diapers for one baby! We plan on having more kids, so I dont want to get rid of a lot, just a few. I may have some BG 3.0s for sale soon
Anyone have these issues?
Re: large stash and washing everyday
I have more than 50 diapers for one kiddo.
I do laundry every 2-3 days with no issues, and I'm guessing that the equivalent of 1 days worth for a family with 2 kids. I know I don't need as many diapers as I have but I can't bring myself to part with them. lol
Yes! Before DD2 was born, I washed every other day. I had about 25 pockets and 7 fitteds (which I rotated for nights). A few months ago, I started collecting diapers in anticipation of the new baby. I now have over 100 (but about half the stash is newborn diapers and infant prefolds, which I only use until solids). So I have a stash of about 55 diapers for the two of them to share after DD2 outgrows the nb diapers and pfs. DD2 is not yet three weeks old but I have already learned that I have to wash every day to get the diapers clean.
I told DH yesterday that I'm going to start selling off our excess, but he actually wants me to keep them. We live in Russia and sometimes the water or electricity gets turned off. So he wants to make sure we have extras lying around. I get that, but I still don't think we need as many as we do. I'll probably be posting a dozen or so for sale soon!

my washer is so filled up with 2 days with of diapers for 2 kids that they won't get clean. I have plenty of CDs, it just seems pointless since I wash everyday.
so why not just two do seperate loads? I dont see the difference with overstuffing your clothes and overstuffing your diapers.
If they'll don't get clean, do half the amount. It's an extra load but at least they'll be clean.
right?

I think this is what I'll do when/if we have 2 in diapers. Wash every other day but do 2 loads.
We use BG 3.0s and 4.0s, FBs and a few AIO BG
By the time my pail is filled, its only one day. It fills about half the washer, but if I wait and put in more they dont rinse well. Its not the best washer. I did diapers in my Dh's grandmothers washer when we were away and they got so much cleaner without all the extra rinses.
I guess I could, but right now my wash routine is a full warm wash with an extra rinse, and a full hot wash with detergent and an extra rinse. If there is too much in there I have to add Bac out and one more rinse. It takes me a while to do one load.
My clothes get clean when I full the washer, but my diapers are different. The rinsing makes all the difference to me, and the extra water allows for more agitation. PLus I have a toddler and his poop/pee is a lot more potent than my BF baby. I have been playing around with wash routines for a while and this is working so far...also washing everyday makes them less smelly I think bc they sit for a shorter time in all the stink.
This. I have waaaay too many, but DH does not want me to sell any since we plan on more kids.
Have you tried just doing 2 warm rinses, followed by a hot wash and cold rinse?
my washer only does cold rinses.
