My situation was a little different so I don't know if I can help. I bled for about 10 days, but I also had a natural miscarriage of a twin along with the ectopic surgery. I haven't had AF yet but my surgery was just 10/4.
PCOS, Ectopic & M/C of twins October 2010, Currently TTC #2
I had to have my pregnancy and right tube removed laproscopically last December and I bled for just shy of a week I think and then it started back up for a couple of days (so 7 - 10 days total). I got AF 6 weeks later or so I think.
I was about 4 or 5 weeks along at the time and the doctor told me that I should get my periods about on the same schedule I had been on, but it may be off by a week or so and that if I was one who marked on the calendar for the whole year when I should get AF, I'd be off by a bit, but not much.
I bled for one week straight, and then nothing for one week, and then bled again for about 3 days. My doc said the second bleeding was my body responding to the drop in HCG levels.
Five weeks post-methotrexate I had 5 days of spotting, which my doc said to count as a period. 6 weeks past that no AF (we were strictly TTA) and my doc gave me a prescription of Provera to induce AF, which worked, I started AF 3 days after the 10 day prescription.
I was on BCP for 10 years before my ectopic, so I have no measure of what my normal periods are like. And so here I am... GL to you!
