Applied for a new life insurance policy recently. I am very healthy; no history of anything EXCEPT PPD, which I still see a psychiatrist for in order to manage the dosage of my Zolft. I currently take 25 mg and see him every 3 months or so. Yes, my PPD was pretty bad; to the point that I was voluntarily hospitalized for 2 days, but once the meds took effect I have been fine for 3 years. The life insurance company approved the policy, but wants to charge me double due to the depression history Guess I'll be sticking with m current crappy term insurance.
That sucks...I tried to up mine but I was declined because I had depression while I was pregnant. I was declared in remission too. Its so unfair.

Wow good thing I got my life insurance before babies.... I take effexor for reasons other than depression....but Im sure they would look at it and just label me. I hate insurance but I love it...haha.

Ugh, this doesn't bode well for me. My life insurance policy is pretty minimal and I planned on upping it in the new year. I didn't realize PPD made that much of a difference
Can they cancel your insurance or change your premium if you're diagnosed after starting your policy? We got ours shortly after DS was born, but I was only recently diagnosed.
Re: Life insurance vent related to PPD
