Well, we've been in the process for 7 months, but we're not even "waiting" yet. We are currently in the process of getting our Immigration approval and pulling together the final aspects of our dossier. After it goes to Peru, we'll have 6-8 months before we're approved...and THEN we'll start waiting...for an estimated 6-12 months for a referral (unless we ask to be considered for a waiting child).
For us, it's been 5 months since we finalized the home study and were certified. We were told the wait would be from 3 days to 3 years...I hope we will be on the lower end.
Well, we're a little different since we're doing IA. But you can see from my ticker how long we've been waiting to bring our kids home since referral. They are no longer 3 and 6 like my ticker says, but 4 and 7.
We received a sibling referral at the end of August, filed our acceptance paperwork after Labor Day weekend, and are currently waiting for our travel call.
We've been in the process about 4 months (or whatever precise amount of time my ticker says) but we're not quite 'waiting' yet either. We need to get our dossier together which is taking longer than I'd like, and then translate it and send it to the orphanage. The approval/wait time will then be 2 - 8 months. We're telling ourselves Easter will be realistic.
