Ok, dumb question...I got these bottles as a gift...how am I supposed to use them? There's a rubber thing in the back, where the "vent" holes are. Am I supposed to take that out, so it can vent through the holes, or is it an automatic air pressure thing and I leave that rubber thing in there?

    You leave the rubber thing in. Better to ask. If you leave it out the bottle leaks... trust me. I've done it LOL Make sure to screw both the bottom and top on super tight. They leak if you don't.

    Leave the rubber in the bottom. When baby sucks, they pull that ring away enough for air to come through those holes and into the bottle so the nipple doesn't collapse.
