I'm a HS teacher and the seniors are voting on nicest eyes, most attractive, nicest car etc. to be posted with pictures in the yearbook. Am I the only one who thinks that this is not necessary? Maybe it's because I was never one of the cool kids in HS and can sympathize with the kid who has to stare a the "most attractive" knowing they weren't chosen. Seems like something better could be put in place.
Re: Senior Superlatives?
and everyone should get a trophy, even if they don't graduate.
I don't know.....its one of those "life isn't fair" things....
Maybe I'm just too sensitive due to all the bullying workshops I've had to attend...
I think most schools do this now, I know I opted out of voting because I saw no point in it. I don't see how its fair to anyone. It's got to hurt the other students and the whole thing is just ridiculous.
Liam is 5!
I think it's fun.
And I didn't get one. But that's probably because I'm so awesome I would have fit in more than one category. LOL
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
AND thinking back to mine..I don't remember many being about physical features or whatever...more like "most likely to be president" "most likely to drive a sports car" "most likely to become a doctor"
Maybe if there were more that were based character than physical qualities it wouldn't be so harsh??? Could you suggest something like that???
For ours, they sent around a "ballot" with catagories, and you'd fill in the name...and that was a section of the year book.
So, no, not everyone got one. They all were nice ones that you would be flattered to be voted for. There were 600 seniors in my class, and maybe 20 superlatives....so it wasn't like you were the ONLY one not to be picked if you weren't picked.
They weren't "prettiest" or "nicest eyes" though...
I always thought they were fun. I graduated in a class of like 300 and there were maybe 10 categories, so there were A LOT of people who didn't get one - it was no biggie.
Did you get to have senior quotes by your name?
Mine was:
"Would you exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a cage?"
Yes I quoted a Pink Floyd song, I was that deep.
this exactly. we had it for my senior year and that was 20 years ago.
That's one of my favorite songs ever! Yeah, I'm STILL that deep.
