Hi! Here's a little backround. I am 25 years old. I have a 3 year old daughter. I had a miscarriage on Labor Day weekend.
I think I am pregnant. Haven't had a period since late Sept and a test came up positive.
I won't see a doctor until Tuesday.
Advise please.. from your experience what foods should I avoid.. I pretty much know the basics... but still good to hear.. but also really want your thoughts on GREEN TEA. Do I have to give up my Green Tea. I guess they say ANY amount of caffeine is not safe, and I should stick with water..??
Also, what exercises should I give up. I guess since it's early in implantation possibly I shouldn't be doing my normal high intense kick box workouts.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Also I think I am getting sick!! My throat and my nose.. all stuffy and coughing a little bit.. WHAT SHOULD I DO????
Re: I think I am pregnant.. and haven't seen dr yet
Green tea blocks FA absorption. It's not the caffeine that is the problem. It should be avoided.
Otherwise, I doubt much has changed since you had your other child.
This link has a good list of do's and don'ts: https://pregnant.thebump.com/pregnancy/is-it-safe.aspx
I've avoided all cold meds and have instead used sinus rinses when I've had a cold. But there are some safe meds. You can call your doctor before your appointment and ask.
As for caffeine, the general rule is no more than 200mg/day. Some doctors say less. Brewed green tea actually doesn't have that much caffeine in it, but it can block absorption of folic acid, so make sure not to drink it less than 4 hours before/after taking your prenatal.
In general, I'd say you need to make Google your friend. Find some reputable sources and rely on them instead of message boards. Good luck!
With my first born it was different. I was very laid back.. had the occasional coffee.. green tea often.. no problems.. no restrictions..
I just feel because I had a miscarrage now I have to be extra careful...
Heck, I would even eat sushi pregnant with my first but get the Californias and other cooked sushi.. but now I won't risk it or go near it with this pregnancy because even the cooked fishes are cut on the same cutting boards as the raw fish.. therefore more risk.. you know.. so I am much more careful with this pregnancy.. and felt I didn't have any restrictions with my first.. so now there are things I have to be aware of that I wasn't with my first pregnancy.. you know?
Is your ticker wrong? It says you're on CD 14 in your cycle?
Secondly, if being careful kept you pregnant, several of us would not have racked up the spectacular numbers we've gotten. My biggest piece of advice would be to relax a bit. . . take some extra FA and move forward.
But seriously - figure that ticker thing out because it's irritating.

Yes my ticker is wrong and I am trying to change it. I had a miscarriage in Sept so of course if I was still pregnant I would be 14 weeks.. Yes it's annoying. reminding me that I should be 14 weeks already....but had the miscarriage so obviously I need to change it,..
but anyway I peed on the stick again and it said positive but I am just worried because last time it said positive because of the placenta formation and hormones but it was a miscarriage...
so even though the stick said positive I am not getting my hopes up again .. until at least 14 weeks or when I am getting into the second trimester...
Few things:
1). Your ticker said you were on day 14 of your cycle, not that you were 14 weeks pregnant. . . I was simply trying to figure out how you could have a BFP on the 14th day of your cycle.
2). Two lines = pregnant. Go with that for now. Approximately 85% of pregnancies result in a baby. Just because you had one miscarriage doesn't mean you'll have more. In fact, those of us who have been in the revolving door of pregnancy loss can assure you that MOST women who go to TTCAL end up moving on quickly and having new pregnancies that are successful.
3). I'd say there's always a chance to hold onto hope, but there's never a safe part of pregnancy. Don't count on your anxiety going away at 14 weeks. Some of us still lose sleep. . . STILL.
