I think its immature for women to get upset when someone else gets pg too. Its a baby and quite homestly the more the merrier right? I loved having a cousin the same age as I am, we are still the best of friends to this day..

I know!!! My SIL is pregnant too, so when I found out I was pregnant I decided right away to have an abortion- this is her time to be pg, and it would be rude of me to steal it. We'll try again once her baby is born.

OK so I usually don't chime in on the heated discussions but SERIOIUSLY!!!! I totally get not wanting your friends or close family to get pregnant, but to get mad at them I think is a little..... DRAMATIC. I mean seriously, if I got mad every time that someone was doing the same thing as me I would be way too busy holding grudges. I think this is a little childish.....

IF someone close to me got pregnant I would be glad to have someone going through the same thing as me. Sure I wouldn't get all the thunder, but I'm up for a little good old fashioned humility.

Another view: I would be thrilled if a close friend or family member was pregnant at the same time as me. It would be a great experience to share. At the end of the day, everyone has their own life and no one else cares that you are pregnant as much as you do. Also, I wouldn't expect others to plan their lives around mine.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it. I me come on, everyone wants to experience the blessings of motherhood. Right now i have three co-workers of mine preggo and we were all so excited to hear about each other; and also, in my family I was born in August, and i had cousins born in June, July and September of the said year. We were so happy to grow up together and we are all super close.

I only read through the OP and didn't even comment. I'm sure calling someone the SIL from Hell could be a bit dramatic, but on a bad day I'm sure I could think I had the MIL from hell.

No, I was not serious. I knew my brother and SIL were trying and felt really bad when I told them I was pregnant because I knew they wanted a BFP so bad.

I just don't understand how some women can get so upset at someone else's joy. It drives me crazy. During my 1st pregnancy I had several cousins and friends that were pregnant at the same time. It was so much fun.

My aunt, cousin, and BFF were all pregnant when I was. My baby cousin was born 5 weeks before my son, does that mean I should give him up for adoption for daring to steal her thunder even though I didn't know she was pregnant when I got pregnant? My other cousins kid is 1 month younger than mine, what a ***.

FWIW, BFF did get pregnant on purpose the month after I did. Scene stealer. It was her 5th daughter. I had a son. I guess I won the "scene" after all.
