Kickin' Coaster

We got the FIrst Years Kickin' Coaster as a gift and my little guy just hasn't taken to it yet. My son is very active and loves to kick, but the sliding mechanism seems to stiff or something. I am wondering if anyone else has one, if you use it yet, and when their little one started to really like it / make it work? TIA

    DS couldn't reach until a bit over 2 months, even with the seat on the lowest setting. The seat slides easily on ours, kinda clunks back down though! Maybe you got a crappy one?!
