I take CVS brand prenatals because I have difficulty swalling big pills. I am able to get these down, however they don't have the DHA.
My ob gave me samples yesterday of a prenatal with DHA. It was the biggest gel tablet I've ever seen, about double the length of my prenatal. I tried and tried to swallow it, but ended up accidentally biting it. I knew I had to get it down in the next half second, but it got stuck and I gagged and it flew out of my mouth. Next the fish taste permeated my mouth and I started dry heaving.
DH thought this was the funniest thing ever! I had to laugh too, afterwards of course!
So does anyone have a brand recommendation for a smaller DHA supplement? I'd rather take 4 small pills rather than one large one.
Re: DHA Supplement?
Hi There,
I take perscription DHA Duet. They are awesome! There are two pills and they are small! I can take both of them a the same time. For more details/picture of the pills click on the link below:

I take the one a day prenatals along with their DHA supplement. Both came in the same box. Not terribly big so you might not have a problem. They are definitely smaller than the prenatals I took with my first pregnancy (the Rx kind). And they don't make me sick like the prescription ones did... not sure if you are sensitive to pills.
Hope that helps.
I've liked the prescribed Prefera OB with DHA; 2 small pills to take at bedtime or in the morning, not large and have not made me nauseas.

I take the CVS Brand Prenatal/DHA combo pack that is comparable to the One a Day brand. Last time I purchased them I had to purchase the One a Day because CVS brand was sold out and the CVS brand DHA liquigel is MUCH smaller than the One a Day brand.
