I'm looking forward to that super comforting feeling of a newborn sleeping on my chest when we first bring her home. There is nothing like the weight and warmth of a cuddly, helpless baby on your chest when they're brand new. I can't wait to have that with my own daughter.
I'm also looking forward to that first smile.

Re: What are you looking forward to the most?
ditto. I loooooved sleeping baby on my chest. I could not wait until we could finally leave the nicu so I could get to do this!!!
It was the very first thing we did when we walked in the door. I ploped down in a chair and dh put ds on me. best nap ever.
I'm looking forward to my homebirth experience, the moment that we learn the sex of the baby, and introducing the new baby to my boys. I can't wait to get the whole famil yinto my bed and just snuggle together.
I'm also looking forward to breastfeeding again. I really miss it.
seeing LO's face. and see which features of mine they have.
and when they wrap their whole hand around your index finger.
what is this? the make me teary at my desk post?!
Obviously all of the stuff everyone else said (almost everyone)... seeing the baby, holding them, etc...
But I'm also looking forward to not being woken up at 4 a.m. with my leg in knots, being able to get comfortable to sleep, no more pain just from walking and standing, and and eating normally again.
Seeing DH be a dad, hes a bit of a tough guy. I'm excited to see that cute nurturing side of him.
And I'll second the 'not being pregnant'.

I look forward to seeing who LO will look like. We're team green, so the anticipation will be high in the end. We may also skip any 3D/4D ultrasounds so as to not see what LO looks like.
I also look forward to a normal stomach and not having to eat every couple hours.
Hard to pick the most thing.
finding out boy or girl since we dont know this time and did w/the other 2.
sleeping on my back and not having acid flux
You mean like this? this was ds holding dh's hand about a minute after he was born.
The sweet little newborn squeaks. Oh my goodness, those sweet sweet squeaks when they're brand spankin' new.

I'm stuck between these two:
1 - Holding her for that first time. I just want her in my arms so bad already! To finally feel her and look at her and know she's my daughter.
2 - Just being mommy. Being the one who comforts her, who she wants to go to when she's sad/scared/hurt etc. I realized this when my cousin's 9-month-old let me hold her for about 2 minutes, then started squirming towards her mom and holding her arms out. I thought, Soon, I'll be mom, and I'll have that with my own daugher.
Scotch. Just kidding. Sort of.
I'm really looking forward to breastfeeding. I hope it works well for us! I also can't wait to see DH hold her. I cannot wait to see his face!
little teeny, tiny, pink little baby toes. those little feet KILL me. our kid already has 4 pairs of shoes and his feet aren't even here yet.
seeing dh hold his son for the first time. he cried when the u/s tech told us it was a boy last week. imagine his face when he has his son in his arms??
that first little giggle!
having a chubby baby butt crawling around the house with the dog following behind him.
i could go on and on, but i am getting myself all choked up over here.
Seeing what features the baby has from each of us. And selfishly, a tall captain diet with a couple lime squeezes!!
Meeting our LO and seeing who he/she looks like. Also, seeing our DD be big sister. Oh the love, I can't wait!!
I agree that a sleeping baby on your chest is one of the best feelings ever, I am looking forward to that again. But I think most of all I am excited to see DS as a big brother and see how he does with a baby.
-wine
-sleeping on my stomach
-seeing who she looks like - which features are DH's and which are mine.
-doing all those fun little kid things - the zoo, children's museums, going swimming, etc. etc.
-being on maternity leave and not going to work
Ha, ha! I have to agree. I've had a rough first trimester. But I am looking forward to seeing the little being my H and I created.
I had a sleeping 3 month-old on me tonight and it was so wonderful. I can't wait for that with my own child.
I also can't to have little one-sided conversations with LO and hear him/her start to babble after a couple of months.
I can't wait not to have daily heartburn/acid reflux.
I can't wait to work out hard again.
I can't wait to hear little baby eating noises.
I can't wait to meet this being we have created and be a family of three.
