1st rice cereal attempt ??

DS is six months today and will be getting rice cereal for the 1st time...any tips on making it successful?  When to feed, etc?? TIA

    We just did it last night for the first time!  I mixed 1tbsn of rice cereal w/some EBM until it was a runny consistency.  DD was all about it & I had to mix up another tbsn full!  I started DS at 4 mths & he took a while to get it, but DD went right to it.  The only thing I would do differently is maybe start her earlier in the day so I could watch her for any reactions.  She didn't have one, but I thought & worried about it all night...

    We started DS a week shy of 6 mo & he did great.  I'd play around w the consistency a bit.  If you make it too watery, it's hard to get on the spoon & then gets all over LO too.  Either way, the first time will probably be a mess! 

    I started in between his first 2 feedings of the day to watch for reactions / excessive spitting up, etc.  But he did fine.

    We're starting soon too!  DD is 6 months, but she's sick!  We're going to wait until she feels better to try solids.
