Bumbo?

Is it worth it? DD is at the stage where we can sit her up against things. I was thinking about getting the bumbo to help with the sitting, but also getting a tray to help with beginning to feed her.

Do you love your bumbo? Was it worth the $38, or even the $20 I can find it on craigslist for?

    We bought a bumbo a few weeks ago and DD loves it. She was desperately wanting to sit up and got annoyed with not being able to sit up all the time. The Bumbo lets her sit up and look around, which is exactly what she wants right now.

    The Bumbo is nice in that it is light and easy to move--you can even kick it along the floor to move it (obviously while it is empty and you are holding the baby). It also doesn't hurt when you trip over it.

    Can you borrow one from a friend/Nestie whose baby is old enough to not need it right now?  We borrowed one from mcurban, and I'm so glad we did b/c he haaaated it.  I was able to get him to sit in there for pictures once in a while but that's it.  We definitely didn't use it much past the age where he could sit up on his own.

    This is a great idea! Fellow Nesties, does anyone have a bumbo I may borrow? 

    I should point out that we don't have a high chair either, so it's a toss up between purchasing a bumbo and a highchair, or just using the funds towards a highchair and new shoes for mama Wink

    We have a bumbo and like it enough. We take it places with us whe DD will get restless unless she's sitting up. Ultimately though, what has been a major winner for us is the FP Space Saver Highchair. Since it reclines, we were able to start using it from a young age. Our dining chairs are ancient and have wheels, so we can just roll her around the house when she's In it. If you're planning on getting a highchair soon anyway, I'd recommend this option instead.

    My kids never really liked the bumbo. We did use it in the bath to bathe #2 at the same time as #1, but it floats, so that didn't work very well. I second MrsRosie - just borrow one.

    Love the Bumbo! We've used it every day since DD was 4 months old. Her thighs got a little big for it for a while, but she's thinned out and fits well again. I put her in it to brush her teeth and do her hair every day.

    ETA: We have the tray too and we use it as a high chair when we go OOT.

    We never had a bumbo.  I would put the boppy behind her to help her sit up.  I would totally go for the high chair instead.

    imagethis is the one we have, but it's a blue base, yellow insert and green tray. we LOVE it. I pulled it out to put on the garage sale and little dude would get out of it.(so it's still for sale)

    the tray spins and hold snacks. you can take it off, it has optional feet for stability and it straps to the chair for a highchair/booster :)

    Blue or Pink? We have both! You're welcome to borrow/use until no longer needed. We have a tray. I only need it back eventually because I promised a friend she could have all my stuff when she has a baby (they're officially starting to try this month)

    Emily was already a little too old for it when we finally got one and then too mobile to tolerate it for long.
