Update...home visit not so bad!
Last night we had our first home study visit and it went so very well! After the social worker left I felt a little silly for being so nervous at the beginning.
Tomorrow we are sending in the contract agreement and money to the consultant we have decided to go with starting in January!!! So excited.
I know I mostly lurk with the occasional post or two but thanks to everyone for all of the helpful advice that ya'll post on a daily basis!

Its great to hear a happy homestudy story. I am really nervous about the prospect of having ours done. Thank you for posting. Good luck with everything.
Thirdrailmiche- I was really nervous, too. We cleaned and cleaned and made sure everything was in perfect position and the inspection part of the home study only lasted for 2 minutes (she just did a walk through seeing the rooms, the fire extinguisher and smoke alarms). Good luck to you when you decide to have yours done!
