recs for white noise machine

my lo likes the vacuum and the fan from our rangetop, so we are looking for something to put in his room to help him instead of walking out to the kitchen and living room every night. So pls recommend your white noise machine and where you purchased it from. tks

we have the sleep sheep and love it, it has several different noises (heartbeat, rain, ocean and whale) and a timer so it goes off at either 23 mins or 45.

I just use my laptop - it's portable and this site offers not only white noise, but pink noise and brown noise as well. It runs continuously or you can set a timer up to 55 min. Absolutely free, and you can adjust the volume - I love it!

We used the Sleep Sheet with DD #1 but, with DD #2, we've just downloaded some white noise tracks & burned them to a CD. She likes the shower noise the best.

We also have the sleep sheep and love it. Also I have found that our small table top air purifier that we have in DS's room works great as extra white noise. This way he doesn't really hear me when I get up in the middle of the night to pump and I'm right outside his door with the TV and pump on. We just turn it on when he goes to bed and turn it off in the morning.
