Hi! Do you mind sharing your recipe for peppermint marshmellows? I bookmarked MrsRosie's post about homemade Christmas gift ideas and yours sounds awesome!

Re: **~atlantic~**

  • i always just regoogle a recipe when i make 'em.  I don't know if this is the one I've used, but you can't go wrong with Martha, right?  https://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/peppermint-marshmallows

Before they cool, but once they're in the pan, i swirl red food coloring through the tops - so pretty!  Also, if you grease the knife before cutting that helps a lot - actually, I think last time i made them i cut them with greased scissors - the cutting part takes a bit of getting used to. But overall they're very easy - just a bit sticky.

  • Thanks!! If I end up making them (I'm NOT a cook, so I'm a little scared...), I'll let you know how they came out. :)

I haven't made this particular recipe before, but I've made marshmallows - just be warned, they are VERY sticky!  I think dealing with the stickiness was the most difficult part - besides that, there's almost nothing to them.   GL!

  • ssinca's right - they're not hard to make at all!  but they do get sticky.  one other tip - use confectionary sugar like you would flour -  pat a little of it in the pans and pat a little on top of it too.  then before i put them into bags i dip them in a little sugar so the edges of the marshmallows don't stick to the bag. i know it sounds complicated, but i promise, it really isn't!
