We have a great bedtime routine that includes a bath, books and snuggles.
Tonight, Jacob was feeling especially cuddly and when I picked him up to give him our last hug and kiss, he didn't want to let go. He tightened his little arms around my neck and whispered "Mimi" (what he calls me). We gave each other kisses and he pressed his forehead to mine.
Finally it was time for him to get into his crib. After I laid him down, I gently touched his face and told him that I loved him. He held my hand to his face with his little hands and said "Love Mimi."
As his tiny hands were holding mine and he was telling me for the first time that he loved me, I thought..."This is why we went through all that struggle. He is the reason."
Sigh...
