DS's bday is January 2nd, so I think for Christmas I am going to make our parents a photobook of his first year. Are there any sites in particular you felt were the most user friendly/reasonably priced? I've used Shutterfly and I like that, but just wondering if there was something even better out there
Also..does anyone know where to go to find good deals on these types of things?
Finally...what do you think is better...giving them the book actually ON Christmas and only have the first 11 mo or so, or give them something letting them know the book is coming, but wait until I can get 1st bday pics and such in there...I'm not sure...Thanks!
Re: Recommend your photobook site...
Yorkphoto.com is a good place for photobooks... and very user friendly.
I would give them the book on Christmas. It's a little over a week before his 1st birthday.
I'm doing the same thing for DD, since her birthday is 12/30. I plan to take xmas pictures a little early. We just won't have 1st birthday pictures in there. I'd rather have something to
I asked the same question the other day and didn't get any interesting responses. I was looking for something that combines the amazing design capabilities of the Creative Memories virtual scrapbooking software, with the cost of Shutterfly. I would love to do CM books, but it would end up costing hundreds to have them all printed.
Another great site is mixbook.com
They allow you to do alot of scrapbooking type stuff as well (at least it seems). I started using it but then got frustrated when I realized it only goes to 100 pages though, I would have had to have 3 books or so, so I gave up.
I just did a Picaboo book for our vacation in Spain last month, and I was really happy with it. I especially loved that I got it for only $9 (shipping only). Found some coupon online for the discount. I've done a book with blurb.com too and I wasn't really that happy with the quality. But I have heard great things about them too. Just know that they can be inconsistent with their printing. I will probably go with whoever has the cheapest printing prices for our books.
