Argh FIL- go back home!

Finally about to start DD on solids this weekend and we've been really excited about it. We have the baby oatmeal, the veggies with a steamer and food processor and a mesh bag because we're not sure exactly how we want to start feeding her.

FIL is in town and hasn't seen DD since she was 6 weeks old.. We went out to lunch today and he fed her KETCHUP! And then put a french fry in her hand! Seriously FIL? He knows we haven't started her on solids! And he never let my DH eat fast food or any junk at all when he was little- WTH!

To top it off, he brought his two really badly behaved dogs over. They got into my bread basket (which is up on a high counter top), smushed my loaf of bread and ate my cereal bars so I have no breakfast for tomorrow. They scratched DD across the face- she's got this giant gash on her face now, and she started screaming (FIL was trying to nap with DD and had the dogs up on the bed with him- our dog isn't allowed on the furniture because I think it is gross- and they were jumping all over DD, which is how they scratched her).

I told DH about this and all he could say was that he wasn't there and he's not going to say anything to his dad because he doesn't want to alienate him from our kid. And then we end up having a fight because he doesn't want to talk about it anymore. Family really pisses me off sometimes.

    Ahhh. That would drive me insane.

    Fries. Gross. With all the salt too.

    Poor Arya. :( Nick needs to have a talk with FIL. It doesn't matter whether he was there or not, it's his father and it's his family.

    Yeah he needs to talk to his dad. But he has a point. FIL only sees the baby once every 6 months, he's going back tomorrow and by the time he sees her again everything would have changed so it won't matter anymore.

    I just need to get over it so I can go to sleep. Thanks for the support Nat.

    I'm sorry! MH has a hard time addressing any issues with FIL also - because he doesn't want to upset his family. I hope things get much better for you!
