let's be honest here ladies

So, how many of you actually eat lots of veggies? ?It's not that I don't like them... it's just that I don't eat enough.. Maybe 1 or 2 servings a day. ?I know I should eat more, especially now being pregnant, but really how many of you are REALLY eating a considerable amount?

  • I don't eat enough...which is why I told myself I'm going to start eating salad for lunch every day or at least most days.  I was good the last two days!

  • I know what you mean. I'm trying to be healthier by eating salads during lunch (not nuch of a salad person) and making veggie side dishes but I'm sure its only a matter of time before I revert back to my old ways ways of meat and rice!

  • Pre-pregnancy I was getting 3-4/day in. I'm running 5/day now.

  • I am lucky if I eat one full serving a day.  I try on most days, but I just don't ever crave veggies.  I really have to force myself to eat them.

  • Pre-pregnancy:  A ton.  I love veggies.  No lie. 

    Now:  Pretty much none.  Unless you actually count potatoes as veggies, which I don't.  I haven't had "real" veggies in almost 2 weeks.  It's totally foreign and quite sad for me.

  • I actually love fruit and veggies and have been craving them even more. Seriously - roasted beets are like crack to me! In fact, I think I have some in the fridge now...

  • I eat them like crazy, I crave them. I also seem to have a slight sugar aversion.
  • This is bad to admit but maybe 1-2 servings (unless you could olives, then maybe 5) and I am a vegan.

  • I try to eat a vegetable at dinner every night. I have added more fruit to my diet, hope that counts for something!

  • For most of the day, if it's not starchy I can't stomach the idea. I ate a salad for dinner today, so at least that's something. I'm actually craving vegetable beef soup. I think I may pick some up this weekend for lunch next week.

  • I do like veggies, but I find it overwhelming to eat enough.  I have seen recommendations for 5-7 servings--that just seems insane!  I shoot for 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day and I usually meet that.  I don't worry too much whether its mostly fruit or mostly veggies.
  • I take a whole food supplement.  Checked it out with the dr and got cleared to take it.  Started taking it before I got pregnant and saw such a difference.  Helps me get the nutrients of 14 fruits and veggies a day.  I'm always more concerned about veggies because I just can't make myself eat them.  This helps me bridge that gap.

    If it wasn't for that... zilch.

  • Not as much as I need to be eating. I really dont have a appetite for anything that my body needs. Thank god for prenatal vitamins.

    Ditto on this! I was eating 5-6 servings of fruits+veggies a day before and being super healthy...and then...nausea and food aversions kicked in and now I am living on freaking carbs :( I mean I am hating meats too...and i usually love beans and yogurt too...none of that...I am eating like a freaking fussy kid :( makes me sometimes feel like a bad mommy...but i know 2nd tri I will be more normal and back to myself ((Hoping!)))

  • yea i actually don't really like veggies. i am more of a fruit girl. usually i get one serving or maybe 2 a day. lately i have been trying to get a solid 3. i had stir fry for dinner tonight so i think i got at least that many.

  • I'm a vegetarian so I usually eat a pretty good amount.
  • Not enough. Ate more before i found out I was PG. Salads just aren't appealing to me right now. Trying to get them in other ways...not working out so well.

  • I get in at least three servings a day, but I find it much easier to get in fruit.

  • I am a vegetarian so prepregnancy a ton of them. But now I can only stomach toast with butter, and plain pasta. So I drink a v8 everyday to help maintain some sort of healthy habits. hopefully the food aversion thing will go away soon.

    This.  I ate a ton pre-preg but now my "morning" sickness has been so bad and the last thing I want is fruit or veggies......so sad.  I really hope this changes soon!!!

  • I'm usually not a huge veggie eater and I don't really care for fruit, but oddly, I've been craving both lately.  I'm indulging the cravings, since God only knows what I'll be craving later in the pregnancy.

    LOL I've been loading up my salad bar thing with sliced bell peppers, beets, watermelon...

  • I've never really been a fan of veggies. MH keeps trying to sneak them into my dinner. They just aren't appealing. I've been drinking Green Juice and Carrot Orange juice from Trader Joe's to make sure I get some veggies throughout the day.

    This unless we count french fries, tatter tots, zuccini sticks, you catch my drift.  Normally I love veggies, but right now I cannot stand the sight or smell.

    However, I am loving soups...lentil, split pea, etc.  so I am getting my vegetables from somewhere.

    I try for 2/day. Usually I can get that, sometimes not.  I do better with fruit....I usually have an applesauce for a snack at some point in the day. Lunch is usually leftovers from the night before but I do have salad today! 

    I dont worry about it too much.  I do my best.  That is why we are all on prenatals.

  • Yesterday I had 1/2 grapefruit, 2 servings of carrots, apple, juice, salad,broccoli, and 3 pickles.  I think I am doing ok.
