DD got kicked out of daycare UPDATE

Thanks for everyone who read and offered thoughts and advice!  I brought DD back in the afternoon for 2 1/2 more hours.  I sent a different bottle - the playtex drop-in.  She did much better.  She drank 2 ounces, and was not as fussy.  She was happily playing in the exersaucer when I picked her up.  I think the daycare is more willing to work with me and to allow her to not drink a full bottle, since I explained to them that it may take awhile for her to adjust to being there.  She always gets especially fussy and screams when we try to force a bottle on her when she doesn't want it.  FWIW I gave her three bottles aside from daycare today and she took them like a champ!  I hope that tomorrow is a much better day!  (It was definitely more stressful on me than it was on her).

  • I am glad to hear things went better this afternoon.

I would definitely keep my guard up with them though on what they are willing to tolerate and not tolerate.   Stay involved and keep the communication going, you will know quickly if this is the right place for your LO or not.

Good Luck and keep up posted!

  • awww!  Good!  I'm glad it went better! :)  It will always be harder on parents than it is on children to transition into a daycare - but as long as they care and are willing to work with you, that's what matters!
