Cloth Diapering

wetbag ?

Ok so I am still on a major learning curve here. I have learned quite a bit about the cltoh diapers and now I am moving on to bags. I promise I am not joking around as I know these seem like silly questions. I am not sure about why it is called a wetbag does it keep them wet ( like soaking)? Which is better a regular pail liner or wetbag. I know I need something for the diaper bag but not sure what or what brand. Any suggestions? also how is a pail liner going to keep the stink out. I have a diaper pail sort of thing i used for DD. It was just like a trash can that i used trash bags in the lid has a pop up spot to puit the diapers in. Will a cloth pail liner work in that?

Re: wetbag ?

  • Wet bags keep the wet in.  You don't add water for soaking; just drop in the dipes.  I like my Planet Wise medium and small.  The small's really small, though - it's good for max 2 dipes so I use it for short errands.  If you order from nickisdiapers.com shipping on PW products is always free.

  • I have PlanetWise wet bags (medium) for trips out of the house. They just have like a waterproof liner inside so that poop/pee can't leak out of the bag.

I also have PlanetWise pail liners. We just use them inside of a regular step trash can. They are waterproof on the inside and fabric on the outside. When doing diaper laundry, I just throw the pail liner in with everything else. It should work in any pail that you have.

  • We use a small wetbag in our diaper bag.  It is waterproof with a stay close top to keep the wet/dirty diapers away from all the clean stuff in your diaper bag.

For the diapers in the nursery, we just use a pillow case in a flip top trash can with a little baking soda in the bottom.  We still EBF and wash every other day, so it is not stinky.  I don't know what we will do once we start solids.
