We have three of each in snaps. My plan was to try out both of them and determine which one we like best before ordering the remainder of our stash. Our main dipes right now are GMD newborn prefolds with Thirsties Duo covers, but we need to "graduate" to a OS pocket before I go back to work.
I had high hopes for the FB because of the adjustments they have on them, but even adjusted down to the smallest size, the rise on them seems too high on my baby. Also, as a result of adjusting it down so much, the fabric is all bunched up in the back and it is bulky and ridiculous. To be fair, my LO is not even 10 lbs. yet, so I'm setting those aside to try again when she gets bigger.
However, the BG4.0s seem to fit her really well already. The only part I'm worried about is the legs since she's not really chubby yet, but we haven't had any leaks yet. The fact that the BGs snap down in the front for the sizing really helps the rise issue. The BGs just seem to be a trimmer diaper overall... do you all find this to be true? Because I could swear that when I was doing my research prior to purchasing, I had read that FB was the trimmer option.
At this point, because the BG4.0s seem to be working out so well, it is tempting to just forget the FBs and order all 4.0s. But I'm curious what your opinions are about the two, if any of you are willing to share. Thanks!

If she's not even 10 lbs, most OS dipes won't fit her well. Most of them don't fit properly until 10-12 lbs at least.
That being said, I have several of each and like them both. I have more BGs and tend to use those more often because they're wider and easier to stuff extra inserts in for night time. Also, they are our go to DH and sitter diapers (with aplix).
I only have one FB and I really don't like it. I feel like in order to get a good fit around the waist (I have a boy) I have to have it really tight and it leaves a mark on his back where the elastic is. If I were to loosen the elastic adjustment he would leak out of it.
It just seems like there is a lot more trial and error with FB than with BG in order to get a good fit.

Yes! This is what I was talking about. I know that I'll be able to loosen the elastic in the back as she gets bigger, but even if I wait until she's closer to 12-13 lbs., it's still going to be adjusted "down" for quite some time, which makes it all bunchy and seemingly uncomfortable and bulky in the back. I love the IDEA of the adjustments on the FB, but I'm just not sure they work as well as I'd hoped they would.
