My husband and I have been married for a 1 year and 4 months, and we are loving our little life with our furry children Smokey(great dane) and Engine (dach/beagle mix). Recently we have come to the conclusion that we would be happy if we got pregnant, but we are not actively ttc. I went to the doctor b/c my cycles have been out of whack since going off of bcp, and I never had any problems with it until now. She tried to blame it on weight gain, but I informed her that I am very cautious of what I eat and i live for exercising. I am just a built young woman( big booty and boobs). I have been regular for the past two months so hopefully it is back on track. One question I have is has anyone used mirena and if so what were your experiences with it? I got off of bcp for a short period of time right before my wedding and got the mirena, this is when it seemed as though I gained more weight in my butt and hips, no sex drive( after the wedding, not normal for a newlywed). I got off it and got back on bcp and my cycle was perfectly normal and then this past march i got off of it completely and it has been crazy every since. Any advice would be appreciated. i am a nervous nelly at heart and now I am scared that I won't be able to get pregnant. I know it sounds ridiculous b/c we aren't really trying, but we aren't not trying either if that makes any sense. I hope I have not bored all of you to death, still new to this message boarding. I hope to hear from some of you, b/c I feel that other's input is important. Have an awesome day!
Re: New to the bump...with a thousand questions. :)
If you live for exercising, excessive exercise might contribute to wacky cycles. Just something to think about.
If you are thinking of TTC, why would you want Mirena?
I haven't used Mirena, but I did have a lot of trouble cycling my BCP out of my system. I went off the pill last July and did not get a period until last December. Even then, I did not ovulate until March of this year for the first time after getting off of the pill. My April period was a week late, then we wound up conceiving in May. It was a struggle to get my body back in sync after stopping the pill.
I know you don't want to hear 'be patient,' but it's possible that that's all you need.
GL to you!!!!
