Resisting Naps

My LO is so resistant to taking naps, I know he is tired and needs to nap, but boy does he sure resist them!  He cries and is so fussy, it takes him 20 mins to go down for a nap.

Anyone else having this problem?  Suggestions?

Re: Resisting Naps

  • I feel your pain! DD woke up at 5:30 this morning and has only taken one 20 min nap! It is freaking 4pm! I'm going insane over here.......

  • I've been trying to get DD to take a nap for almost 2 hours.  She is so exhausted and keeps on fighting sleep.  I am so frustrated.

  • My Ds has been the exact same way today! Woke up at 4 a.m. and has only napped about 20 minutes and it is 2 p.m.!! i am interested to see what people will say!
  • Wow, at least there are others that are similar to my LO.  He is still resist to a nap, he's in his bouncer chair now (as I bounce it with my foot and type on the computer hoping he'll fall asleep).  He keeps spitting out his pacifier too, poor guy I know he's tired, but he just fights napping so bad.  Think I'll just try to nurse him here a few to see if they will relax him a bit.  Oh, what to do, what to do....

  • No advice here, but I totally understand. My DS fights naps too. I have to rock him forever while he's crying/fussing the whole time. He never stays asleep for long either so then I have to spend more time trying to get him back to sleep.
