I wish I remember who posted it....but when I was reading it I was thinking thats odd b/c DD gets it all the time. As I made her grilled cheese today that post popped in my head and I just had to ask. Oh well!!!
Well then we are breaking the rules :P Any grain LO eats is whole grain and whole wheat, from her pancackes to her tortillas to bread! No issues here!

it might be just because some people are allergic to wheat...i dont know if its on the high allergy list or not but thats all i can think. ive known several people very allergic. but we've been giving it to LO since about 7 months. id say try it out and see if your LO has a reaction just like with any other food.

i believe it has to do with allergies rather than vs. white processed flour. I think it's recommended to wait til 8 months or so before offering wheat since wheat can be an allegen. -much like fish, strawberries, etc...but can be introduced a llttle earlier than those

I thought I read somewhere that whole wheat is best for them. Like whole wheat bread over white bread. Huh, now I'm wondering if I read it wrong.

No, you are correct. I'd say DS gets 95% whole wheat products. He doesn't like whole wheat pasta so we do the smart pasta.
Wheat can be an allergen, so if you have a history of food allergies in your family, you might want to avoid it.
We've been giving wheat since 7 (?) months, Norah eats wheat in some form almost every day now.
