  I don't think I will be really dressing up as anything (maybe throw on some old devil horn headband I have laying around or something, haha).  DS is going to be Winnie the Pooh!    I put his costume on him yesterday morning and it was so adorable.  His daycare is having a "fall festival" where the kids can wear their costumes this Friday and then he will wear it on Halloween, of course.  I don't think we'll be going trick-or-treating with him since he is only one but we'll let him play outside and explore the neighborhood and if he happens to end up on someone's doorstep, we'll say "Trick-or-Treat!"  Haha.

  I love Halloween, it's my most favorite holiday! I mean, what other day do you have the excuse to dress up like a complete fool and eat candy until you pass out?! Not to mention the awesome decorations and food.

  That said, I doubt I'll be dressing up this year. It's a total waste of a pregnant belly, I know, and maybe I'll try to come up with something cheap at the last minute, but I've got nothing planned as of now.

  My LOs will be Snow White/Belle (5yo DD) and Spiderman/Buzz Lightyear (3yo DS). We have 2 chances to dress up (church party on Saturday, real Halloween on Sunday) so they picked 2 costumes.

  Not much new here. I did test GBS positive, so that kinda sucks, but if antibiotics in labor is the worst I have to deal with, I'll be happy.  It does not fortunately affect my ability to go to the birth center.  Yay for that!

  I do have a skeleton t-shirt I am going to wear for Halloween. It has a picture of my rib cage and then a baby skeleton below it with a little pink bow on her head.  LOL!  I am also dressing my dog as a skeleton.  It'll be cute!

  We don't celebrate Halloween (I never did as a kid, so it's just easier to not deal with it).

  I'm already thinking about what DS might be for Purim, though. He likes to say "ooooooh" a lot, so I was thinking of making him one of the aliens from Toy Story and DH maybe going as Buzz...or Mr. and Mrs. Potato head since I will be a bit preggo by then.....

  I'm not, but DD is going to be Cinderella sometimes, and Snow White sometimes. I made her dresses for our Disney trip in May and made them bug enough to still fit for Halloween.

  QOTW:  I'm not dressing up this year, unless I figure out something exciting that's really easy to put together.  DS will be a painter - we needed a very quick costume for Boo at the Zoo several weeks ago, so we painted up some hand-me-down (rather loud and slightly obnoxious) overalls, paired it with a white shirt, a small paint can, paint brush and tiny paint roller, and voila!  He LOVED 'painting' all the zoo decorations as we walked by.  So, we'll stick with that. 

  Not much to update.  First appointment with new FP doctor in about an hour.  Looking forward to getting that relationship going!

  QOTW: Probably not. We were invited to a Halloween party a couple of months ago. We went to another party at the same person's house a few weeks ago and didn't really have a good time so I think we will lay low this year.

  I still have no clue what im dressing up as. I really dont have the extra money right now to buy a costume so i might just try to pull something together. My dd is going to be a Strawberry princess though. Its this cute fairy looking dress thats a strawberry! its way cute!

  QOTW: DD was/is/will be a chicken, I was an egg, and DH was/will be a farmer.  Pic in siggy

  I'm still here and still pregnant.  My MW checked me last Tuesday because my perinatologist is starting to talk induction, etc and we wanted to know if I'd be favorable for natural, or, heaven forbid, medical induction.  Well, I was 4 cm, 50% effaced, so yeah  - I should be favorable, should we decide to induce.  My latest peri appointment went well, though, and no mention of induction, so we'll see.  

  I'm feeling nervous about birth and about having 2 kids under 18 months, so I think that's why my baby hasn't come yet.  Hopefully I'll get over my fears soon and she can come so we don't have to worry about medical induction!

  QOTW:  Gosh, I wish I saw the egg idea and could have made DS a chicken, that is awesome!  I'm not dressing up except maybe wearing an orange shirt.  DS will be a crayon and/or dragon since we have 3-4 places to wear a costume and he has two to choose from this year.

  We interviewed doulas this weekend and pretty much picked one!  Also made the official call to my insurance to switch providers to a new midwife group that is super VBAC supportive!

  I probably won't dress up, and if I do it will be something really basic (like a fun t-shirt). I may dig out my letter jacket and go as an honor student in "trouble" but we'll see. The only party we're going to is my mom's. DS is going as Peter Pan (if I can get him to wear his costume. He's really very stubborn about it at the moment). 

  Random fun update is that I felt the baby this weekend! I was hoping to feel it early (I felt DS at 14w1d) and I have! It's soo light though, I have to be sitting very still and being very peaceful and in tune with my body. It's such a lovely feeling!

  QOTW: I won't be doing anything for Halloween this year. It's sad because it's DH's favorite holiday. He got invited to go out w/friends (out of town) and at first I told him to go. He'd only be 30 mins away if something happened and my parents only live 10 minutes from me, but then I realized that they'll be oot, too so he's going to stay home.   My oldest boy is going as a knight and my little boy is going to be a dragon.  DS#1 REALLY wants DH and I to be the king and queen.  So, I'll probably get a crown and call it good.  :-D

  QOTW:
  I made a skeleton costume to wear! I saw a pic online of the skeleton tshirt with the baby skeleton over the stomach but refused to pay $30 for it, so I found a maternity tee on clearance and cut out felt pieces to tack on so once Halloween is over, I'll just pull the stitches out and have a new shirt!

  Other news:
  DH and I made the decision last week to switch to a midwife. Our Bradley instructor informed us that the hospital and ob group I see currently has a 50% C-section rate and something like 96% medicated births. Ugh! Not very encouraging, and since there is another hospital in our area that is much more med-free friendly, we took the leap. We have an intake appointment with the only midwife that delivers at that hospital, and she has a really great reputation. She is part of a practice with 4 other ob's, so we feel confident that we'll have great care if my pregnancy was to become complicated.

  I usually dress up, but I am so tired right now that I have no creativity.  We're also not having our Halloween party this year like we normally do.  I have a witch hat that I wear to work when the seniors wear their costumes to school, but beyond that this year...nothing.  I have already joked with some friends that next year I will go as a cow.

  I had my midwife appointment on Thursday. I was 29 weeks, 3 days at the time and measured 30 weeks. Baby was head down and facing the right away at the time. MW talked to me about what would happen after delivery. As long as everything goes well we can get into the tub right after and I can relax in the jacuzzi while giving baby it's first "bath." After the bath, I have scented lotions to choose from that MW will rub on my back and legs. It sounds great!

  I don't plan on really dressing up.  For work, I will lose the uncomfortable clothes and opt for yoga pants and a pregnant shirt.  I'll be a comfortable pregnant lady.  Oh - and DH REALLY wants to paint my belly.  I told him he could but I'm not sitting on the porch.

  I'm so sorry Aggie.  I hope to see you back here very soon!

  I'm doing fine... getting more and more into the swing of things with GD.  It's under "excellent control" (NP's words) so far, so fingers crossed that it can stay that way and I can stay with the midwives and have a normal delivery.  I did meet with one of the OBs in the practice last week, and I liked him a lot (he seems very laid back and open-minded) so hopefully it's not the end of the world if I DO end up having to transfer to the OBs.

  QOTW:  I'm just staying home to hand out candy (per my Mom's suggestion, we only bought stuff I don't like, since I can't have any ), so I probably won't be dressing up.  Another waste of a pregnant belly here, *sigh*.

  QOTW:  No DH and I are not dressing up for Halloween.  DD will be a black kitty kat though!  She has been practicing her meow all week

  Update:  Nothing to really update yet.  36 week appt is tomorrow and I'll be tested for GBS.  I've been having random contractions since Friday, so things are just warming up.  I had similar contractions with DD starting at 35 weeks, so I was kind of expecting them to start soon.

  QOTW: I don't plan on dressing up, if I do I'll just throw on my bunny ears and tail. DS will be a puppy and I'll have him play fetch with a ball since he is obsessed with dogs and balls:).

  We had our baby!

  We didn't get the VBAC we had hoped for and ended up with a second repeat emergency-c/s, but feeling complete having added our perfect little girl to our family.

  As far as the birth story- still have to work on it, but as far as a shortened version- I went into labour at 8pm on the 21st.  By morning, my MW came by as contractions were meeting 5-1-1 and she said I could stay home a little longer.  I was admitted to the hospital at 4pm.  Contractions the whole time were intense and the back labour was pretty tough.  By 6, contractions were about 2 minutes long, 3 minutes apart but I was regressing as DD still had not engaged.  We decided to do a controlled breaking of my waters to see if we could get DD to drop. I continued to labour until 11 on the 22nd and we had to put a scalp clip on DD for internal monitoring as the OB on-call felt her heartrate was dipping with my contractions and the external monitor wasn't picking anything up.  By midnight, with each contraction, Cora's heartrate dropped from 140/150 to 40 because her cord was being pinched somewhere.  Scariest thing ever.  We were taken for an emergency c/s where we had my DD 16 minutes later. 

  Anyhow, we're all at home, healthy.  Life is pretty darn good

  As to QOTW: I LOVE Halloween! It is hands-down my fave holiday ever! I bought a dress earlier this fall for the FIVE weddings I am going to with my pregnant belly. And since one of them is a masquerade on Halloween weekend, I have to figure out a costume around the ONLY dress that fits... It's black and yellow, so I went "monarch butterfly" and found a Martha Stewart project to make a flock of butterflies around my head as a headdress. It's going to be so cool! DH is going as a "butterfly catcher." We are borrowing a safari-style pitch helmet from a friend, and I'm grabbing a butterfly net from REI tonight, which I will then stitch fake butterflies into the netting. I"m pretty excited.

  Other updates? My family is driving me crazy with the shower planning and my baby is dancing up a storm on my bladder and other parts south. But we're all happy and healthy so far!
