Update on my Very Stupid Friend

Last week I explained that one of my friends was very stupid and put her brand newborn into a dumpster.
Update: She was charged with attempted first-degree murder today. Also she said, "I am not a mother." Also...right after she gave birth and put the baby without any support on the head and blankets into a black trash bag then in the dumpster. She went to McD's for a chocolate milkshake then went to work at Walmart.
She's got whats coming to her.

How do you refer to this person as "Friend"??
I wouldn't use the word stupid... I would say this person is a murderer. Is this a common occurance in your city/state?

She's no longer a friend but I started the last post with Rant Very Stupid Friend.
It's not common at all here. I live in a small town that is part college students part elderly people. Now...where I am from it was off and on happens but they were more open about safe havens.
Used to be friend. I made a post last week explaining how we were friends. No one knew she was pregnant.

That does not sound like normal behaviour. I don't know the background and if the child died - but there must be something seriously up with this person to have done that. Not saying she gets a 'get out of jail free because you have PPD' but something is not working right obviously.
I would give you the news article but it says where I live. I don't think that is a good thing. But it's real facts. The mother was twenty-four years old. She claims she was raped nine months ago and she also claims she didn't know she was pregnant until she felt the baby kicking.
Umm, you know a warning in your subject would be nice.
It's not "stupid" to put a newborn in a dumpster like trash. There are a lot of words for it: cruel, inhumane, f-ed up... but stupid is not the first one that comes to mind when thinking about someone who tried to murder a defenseless newborn.
I've heard this all over the news - it's definitely not MUD.
I'm just glad that baby is ok!
I just can't believe that at 24 yrs old she didn't have the right mind to think about giving the baby up for adoption or the Safe Haven Law.

Nope, she seems very okay with this. It's been said by her close friends that she was pregnant two years ago and gave the baby up for an adoption at least that is what she told them. She's normal and she just got her teaching degree.
Baby boy is very healthy 7 pounds 10 ounces. Nothing is wrong with him.

I'm sorry for her. I'm sorry she felt trapped. And I'm sorry for that baby. What a sad situation.
I guess I missed your first post about this, that is horrible.
A few months ago we had a trial out here for a woman who did a very similar thing. She gave birth, cut the cord herself, didn't tell her husband and kids and then left the baby in a dumpster. The husband saw the blood in the bathroom and saw his wife was gone and apparently immediately started searching trash cans with his kids and found the baby. She ended up being found guilty, I believe, of attempted murder.
So the baby lived? Thats wonderful! I hope the baby gets to a good home where someone will really love it and appreciate it as the GIFT He/she is!
If the baby lived...the 'mother' lost. And she's right anyway; she is not a mother and doesn't deserve to be called one.

I'm sorry she was raped! That makes me feel very sorry for her. Well, I felt sorry for her anyway, because I don't know how someone can be so detached from humanity to perform such a cruel act!
I certainly wish she had been smarter and more empathetic. It wasn't the poor baby's fault.
It isn't on the news in Canada - thus far. Very sad situation though. Must be a shock to 'know' someone and then realise you don't REALLY know them.
A huge shock for all of her friends. Most of them will be testifying against her in the court case since they know her mental well being. Some of her really close friends are barely struggling with everything. But one friend of mine and hers turned the mother in because she found that she was skinnier that day when she came to work and saw blood on the "mothers" front seat.
