This is probably a stupid question, but I can't find any info on this subject anywhere (not even with a dang google search).
Can semen (i.e. mixed in with your urine - from testing with first urination right after FWP) affect OPK results?
Backstory: Up until last night I had not gotten a + OPK digital reading (some pretty close IC OPKs, but no confirming smiley on the digital) - well, last night after FWP (my first trip to the bathroom afterwards) I got my first + digital OPK. It just seems too coincidental and too good to be true.
Re: semen + OPK
Easy question.
No.

This! Yay for your + OPK!!!
Thank you ladies - for easing my crazy mind!
For some reason I remember reading a study that talked about the presence of LH in semen, and apparently that stuck with me enough to make me think it could actually affect OPK results.
Ugh - I hate what TTC (esp AL) does to my brain!
You girls really are awesome - without you all, I think my DH would kill me for driving him nuts right along with me lol
Yeah. The only TTC stuff I tell DH is when and where (in me or in a sterile room somehwre) to make a "deposit". I think it's easier on both of us that way....

I couldn't agree more - I try to tell DH as little as possible about the mechanics of it all. Once and while he'll get inquisitive and start asking questions, but even then I make my responses as vague as I can so as not to freak him out. It's definitely easier on both of us as well.
Thanks! I was sooooo excited to see that
