I have quite a few this week:
I hate the dogmatic "official" threads. I think they stifle debate, and that's horse hockey.
Smash cake photo shoots (pre-birthday mostly) are ridiculous and gross me out.
People that talk about "real Americans" and that want to cut social programs are classist, racist, and xenophobic.

Re: My UOs (because 9-12 doesn't care)
People buy special outfits, hire photographers, get a special cake, just to get pictures of their kid digging into a "birthday" cake, ruining said outfit... not on their birthday. I just don't get it, and don't think that it's cute at all.
There are usually some posted on 9-12, but I won't link to any, because I don't want to single anyone out.
That really is more of a 9-12 UO, honestly. I just like it better over here...

The Chaos of Six!
I do think that smash cakes are a waste of money, but I do think it's cute when you have a cake in front of LO while singing Happy Birthday when he all of sudden goes for the cake.
It's just a trend, and it'll die soon just like every other trend.
What??? You don't think this is cute?? We cannot be e-friends now.
The only one I disagree with is the last one.
I hate the "real americans" verbage, but not everyone who wants to cut social programs is racist and xenophobic or what have you.
ds is my first kid but this is what i was going to do...have him smash it in his highchair at his b-day party while dh or myself take pictures.

Hotsauce is right. Same thing applies in Texas, IMO.
