Washing Wool Frequency

How often do you wash your wool if it has not been soiled by poop? I know that you don't have to wash it when it gets wet during use, I'm just wondering if you just regularly wash it every week or two, or can it go longer? Do you lanolize again after a certain number of uses?

I wash it when it smells even after I've let it air out. With the low frequency of wool usage, I'd say maybe once a month or every other month. I lanolize when I wash.

Lanolizing wool makes it self-cleaning. You can tell the lanolin has worn off when the wool starts to stink. So if there have been no poosplosions, I wash and relanolize when the wool starts to stink. If I'm using the same cover every night, this takes 2-3 weeks.
