Decreased urination??

I know the typical pg symptom is increased urination, but I have only experienced that for literally one day a couple weeks ago.  I am usually a huge water drinker.  With all the nausea, I haven't been eating much or drinking as much water as usual, but I still feel like I'm getting in a decent amount of water.  However, I can now go all day without having to pee.  I think I only peed 2-3 times yesterday.  I slept for like 10 hours and didn't even have the urge to pee when I got up today.  Is this happening to anyone else??  It's kind of disturbing...

Re: Decreased urination??

  • Mine decreased after I started puking my guts out. I got those frozen pedialyte pops and that's been helping a little bit.

  • You may be dehydrated and your body is absorbing as much water as possible.  If your urine is dark yellow you're dehydrated and need to push more fluids.  If not, you're lucky you're not running to the bathroom.  I've only experienced an increase in urination at night, you know when I'm trying to sleep.

This is what my doctor told me yesterday when I asked him about this (but he didn't say I was dehydrated, just not very hydrated).  I thought I was imagining things, but he assured me that it's most likely because I'm having such bad all-day nausea and sickness.  He recommended frozen fruit juice bars, etc and to just try to drink as much water as possible.

  • Thanks ladies.  I guess I'll just have to try and drink more... even though the thought of that just makes my stomach turn.  I've been eating popsicles too.
