What are you getting LO for Christmas?

Christmas is creeping up REALLY fast. We always buy presents last minute. It's totally stressful and we're going to do our best not to do that this year :) So, we're starting our shopping now.

We have no clue what to get Soph this year. I'm SURE we'll figure out something :) What are your plans? I need ideas!

Re: What are you getting LO for Christmas?

  • OMG, good question, I hadn't even thought about it.  What will I get my Angelica this year???

  • I have been thinking about this for a while now, and have no clue what C will need at that age (almost 6 months). Maybe some of you ladies with older babies could help with ideas of what your LO liked most at that age. We are thinking an exersaucer type thing, and developmental toys, but we don't know if we will end up buying those things before xmas or not.
  • I'd like to get Caroline a kitchen and a little table and chairs set.  I've put these on her wish list as well as a wagon and tricycle.  I'm hoping the grandparents will get some of these things for her.  I haven't figured our anything else yet.  Probably some puzzles and other developmental toys.

  • Although, K is younger, we're getting her a College Fund.  HAHA.  She won't know the difference and my parents and grandparents have been talking about X-mas for her since they found out I was pregnant.  So I fear that toys are going to take over my house.  So we're not getting her any toys.  But I will buy her some clothes probably too.  Because everyone always gets her stuff with writing on it.  And I am just not a fan.

  • A ride on toy (a bumblebee!), a pull toy, a porcelain figurine (she will get one at each birthday from now on -family tradition), and a wooden nativity set. The last is really a family gift I guess but I like the idea of it being ok for her to touch - it is nice looking but I ordered it out of a kids catalog. Yes I have already finished Christmas shopping for her and for most of my family - I spread it out starting in August because DH doesn't make as much money in winter.

  • An American Girl "bitty baby". Baby doll, clothes, maybe a yo gabba gabba video, and gymnastics free play classes.

  • I think I will get Alexa the easel part to her Learning tower. Some Melisa & Doug puzzles. Not sure what else. I am so tempted, but trying to hold off on a play kitchen until her birthday or next Christmas because I'd rather wait and see a "big reaction" to it, then have it be something she always remembers having.

Eric will go ALL OUT if I let him. He was shopping alone yesterday and almost got her a rocking horse... she already has one... what does he say? "Well this one was pink." LOL sounds like something I would do!

  • Maybe some clothes once we figure out the gender. Otherwise nada. The kid won't remember this year anyway. :)

  • I agree with Ashley -- college fund!  We'll probably buy a couple of outfits too but my family always goes crazy at Christmas so he'll get more than he needs for sure.  I was going to let his convertible car seat be his Christmas gift but he is too big for his infant seat already so we're switching to his new car seat this weekend.
  • Melissa & Doug puzzles, Learn & Move Music Station, And Books! She is going to get so much from family members we really do not have to get her much! We signed her up for the Florida Prepaid college fund last week :)
  • I got my nephew a 4 foot tall wooden floor puzzle of the human anatomy.  Mostly it's for his parents as a joke (they are both scientists).  But the pieces can also be chewed on to help with teething.  :)
  • I got DD a baby doll and I made a tutu for the baby doll to match her tutu.  I also made her a sock monkey for her stocking.
