Shreiking and Screaming?

LO has started just screaming high pitched and LOUD if he doesn't like something.( example you  make him lie down to get a diaper change or take something he shouldn't have. ) I have tried telling him no and covering his mouth. That doesn't help for long. I know it's just a phase but what can I do for now?

I should add sometimes he just screams because he can. Tongue Tied

Re: Shreiking and Screaming?

  • DS just started doing this yesterday, except he doesn't do it because he is mad he just does it because it's a new noise and he likes to hear himself. lol All yesterday afternoon he just screamed and screamed.  I knew it was coming, and it's funny for now, but how long will this last?  I don't see it being that funny for much longer! haha

  • DD has been doing this for about a week now. She screams and arches her back when she gets mad, especially during diaper changes.

I remember DS going through this phase and eventually he stopped. (Until he it started up again around a year lol)

  • DD started this around 6 mo, just for fun and seemed mostly happy. Now it is loud and I am about to go out.of.my.mind.

  • Oh thank God! I thought I was the only one! DS has been screaming for the past week or so and I'm hoping this phase ends soon! He screams when he's happy, when he's mad or just when he feels like it! Yesterday I counted and he screamed 7 times in 2 minutes! Also I read that they scream more around the primary caregiver and yesterday while I was holed up in our office doing schoolwork and DH had him to himself, he did not scream once the entire hour until I came out of the room and he started right back up as soon as he saw me!
