Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Breast Feeding Moms

Is your LO showing any signs of weaning? My DD still loves to nurse as much as she can. I am still okay with nursing and everything but I would like her to wean by 13 months. I dont see this happening at all! Anyone else?

Re: Breast Feeding Moms

  • My DS also still loves to BF, several time a day and a few times a night :(

I am slowly weaning him onto whole milk with the hope that he'll be totally wean close to 11-12 months.

  • There are times when DS won't nurse as long as others but he would still nurse 4x per day.  We're weaning now but given the chance he would keep going.

  • No weaning here. My LO is still happily nursing 6-8x a day.

  • My DS is 9.5 months old and no signs of weaning here.  He pulls at my shirt ALL DAY LONG which gets very tiring!!!!
  • my LO weaned herself a week before she was 10 months old. I was sad, I was hoping to nurse her to at least a year (I'm still pumping..) but she just outright decided she was done one day..
  • I don't think so.  We're down to nursing 3 times a day(DD gets BM in a sippy while I'm at work) and have been doing that for a month now.  I haven't really thought about her weaning yet.  I imagine when she's 1, but she's only 9 months so I'm not really worried about it yet.
  • nope. would walk around with my nip in his mouth if a)I let him and b) he could walk.

  • No where near weaning here yet either. She still nurses 5-7 times a day and on most nights, 3 times :( She doesn't eat a whole lot so I'm sure that explains the fact that she nurses a ton still.

  • I've cut down the nursing to just before bed and first thing in the morning. I'll be dropping one of them by the time her birthday rolls around, and the last one by 13 months as well. It was easier for me because I work full-time, so we just slowly replaced her BM bottles with formula bottles. She definitely still loves to nurse those two times, though; I think she's going to fight me on giving them up.
  • No, but he's getting super distracted to the point where I have to turn the TV off sometimes while nursing so he'll eat.  He doesn't drink much from his bottles during the day and makes up for it at night.
