ugh, LO cries rear facing

any ideas you can share on how to help him stop? we have a mirror so he can see me (just got it when we switched to the convertible seat) i have given him a couple toys which he eventually tosses out of the seat.

if you have something to entertain him that works, i will go out and buy it,...he cried 40 mins straight the other day, door to door!

Re: ugh, LO cries rear facing

  • Yikes, did he cry in his infant seat rear facing? Do you have the seat on a slight angle so that he is leaning back a bit? We have a Baby Einstein mirror that plays music and lights up. DS likes it.

  • Evelyn likes having someone in the backseat with her to entertain her, and if that's not possible, she likes the radio on. Lately she's taken a real liking to the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy, so that keeps her greatly entertained.
  • This may sound stupid but the easiest way to keep DS entertained in the back seat is giving him an empty water bottle. He loves to play with it and hear it crackling when he tries to bite it. keeps him entertained for a long time!!

Similar thing here. We give DD a toy or two. Sometimes she plays, sometimes she tosses them over the seat. Usually, though, it entertains her.

Other times she cries and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not going to have someone else drive us so I can sit with her and entertain her. I'm not going to turn her FF just so she can see out the window better, knowing it isn't safe to do so.

  • We give our daughter toys, play children's music CDs and she also gets her paci in the car. She only gets her paci for naps, bedtime and in the car.
