Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Would you dress your baby in...

I have a onesie from Gymboree (last year)  that has a picture of a bull on it and it says lil bully. My mom had the same onesie that she bought awhile ago to give to someone who was having a little boy and she brought it over the other day and said that with all that is happening with bullying and how its all over the media, she just couldn't give that to someone as a gift b/c it said "lil bully". I hadn't even thought twice about it, but now I'm wondering if that's maybe just a onesie that we wear under stuff.

Is that totally dumb? I mean, I know that obvs. my babies have no idea what their shirts say, but it just got me thinking. What would you do?

  • I feel so strongly against bullying that if it were me, I would not let my LO wear that onesie. This is just my opinion on the matter though.

  • If it was a 5 year old's shirt I'd pull it from the closet but for a baby... I would worry about it.

  • It gives me the same feeling as when you see little girls with 'sexy'  and 'spoiled brat' on their clothes.  I don't like it and I don't want that labeling my kid, so I wouldn't do it.  I know they're just babies and don't know the difference, but I wouldn't put a 'd-bag' onesie on my kid, so why put a 'lil bully' on him?

  • I would not, especially in the current cultural climate.
