Have you taken your LO to swim lessons?

We start next week and I'm trying to think of everything that I'll need.

Aside from the obvious (swim diapers, bathing suit, towel) are there any other things that I need to think about before hand so that I'm prepared? I normally over think everything because I hate feeling like I don't know what's going on.

Any advice would be appreciated!

We just did our first swim class on Monday!! It was a blast-I'm sure you'll have fun. You're already ahead of me...I totally spaced the Little Swimmer diapers until the afternoon before....

I can't think of anything else you'll need. Just don't forget about yourself and some extra clothes for you. I went home wet and cold....but it was totally worth it!

The pool that we went to was indoors, so no sunblock needed.

I always had 2 diapers, just in case she had an accident, wipes, a change of clothes for after.

Ooo, how was it? I'm so excited, but worried that she won't like it. I hope she does!

Good point about the clothes! I'll probably wear my bathing suit there just because it's easier. I tend to get so wrapped up in what I need for her that I forget about me, so thanks for the reminder!

Did you bring a bath towel or a full size adult towel?

I was definitely planning on bringing an extra diaper or 2.

Is it wrong that I want to buy another diaper bag so that I can always keep it stocked? I love bags, haha.

We just finished up swimming lessons. It was a lot of fun! I always brought an extra swim diaper, a couple of regular diapers, a couple of towels (two for her, two for me), washcloth, baby wash, lotion, and pj's. I showered at the gym after lessons with DD so I had one towel for the pool and one for afterwards. I did the shower/lotion/pj's at the gym because she was usually pretty tired afterwards and would fall asleep on the car ride home.

I'm with you, I had a separate "swimming lessons bag." Made life much easier.

LO starts lessons in a few weeks, registration is Monday! thanks for the list, its on Saturdays so DH will actually be doing it with him while I'm in class. I got a swim diaper for him, I'm thinking I should have ordered two just incase. I got a swim suit for him at home, someone gave me one in the wrong size without the tags but it fits him now so it kinda worked out! lol I might hit up the consignment shop for another one.

Check ebay! I got an adorable Gymboree one for $2.99!

I'm assuming you CD...I've actually considered getting a cloth swim diaper, but I'm going to get into the swing of things with the class first.

Our pool is pretty strict on the type of diapers- babies have to be doubled up with a disposable swim diaper and an iplay brand reusable over. I absolutely love his iplay swim trunks- they're adorable!

The Y webpage only says that a swim diaper is required. I'm going to look up that cover, though. Thanks!
