But I can't! I wake up every 3 hours or so all night long to pee! (And it's never very much, which makes it even more annoying!) Any advice? I've tried working out during the day and even tried not drinking anything after dinner but then I wake up thirsty.
I'm a teacher and need to be awake and patient all day and this lack of sleep is killing me!

I thought I was the only one with this! Sometimes in the middle of the night, I find myself walking to the couch because I get better sleep there. It doesn't help that my couch is insanely comfy.
I am also sleeping better on the couch these days. I try really hard not to drink anything late so I don't have to get up to pee but my aching back and hips wake me up between every hour or 2. It's horrible! I've never been much of a good sleeper but I'm hoping to get relief when LO gets here.
Oddly I was getting up more to pee in the first trimester. No one ever told me that as soon as you get pregnant you have to pee all the time (something about hormones, bladder function and blood volume changes?). Now I'm pretty much getting up only once. But for some reason I can't nap anymore, which makes me a little sad. A Saturday afternoon nap used to feel so good!
That all happened during my 1st tri. I could not sleep at all. I was lucky to get 4hrs. DH bought me a snoogle and that thing is the new love of my life!
Now I have a problem sleeping but it is the opposite. I can sleep for 12 hours straight on a regular basis. It's actually annoying because I have things I need to do that never get done the day I plan. I also feel like my body (which used to be toned) is now just mush because I dont have time to exercise anymore. Thank God I don't have to go to work. I don't know what I would do.
I'm hoping that since I am moving into my 3rd tri things will balance out. I really want to get some sort of exercise in and just stop feeling to lethargic. My nesting is more like hibernation these days. LOL
Hate to break it to you, but getting up to pee every 3 hours is lots better sleep than getting up to feed a newborn every 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, those aren't 5 minute wakings. Sleep while you can.
I might be bitter because I still have a bad sleeper.
i slept better once baby was here- sure I was up a lot, but i was exhausted and able to get comfortable so could easily go right back to sleep. Now I am tossing & turning, peeing, insomnia, etc.
I always thought that line was such b.s. LOL
