Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Usually the variety bag of snickers, m&m's, milky way, and whatever else. And we buy Whoppers, but DH never gives them out We might buy lollipops this year since that's something our kids like and will eat.
I usually buy peanut butter cups, snickers, and skittles because that's what I like. I am waiting until the last minute this year because I don't want to have a bunch leftover. Maybe I should buy stuff I hate. I usually give about 3 pieces per kid but we don't get many trick-or-treaters so at the end of the night I give out even more than that. LOL.
I usually get the mix that we like to give out assuming if there is any left over we get to eat it and I start out giving out the candy we don't like (the m&m snickers comes with woppers so I give out the woppers first or like the milky way mix comes with starburst so I give those out)
I usually give 2 pieces each and by the end of the night depending how much is left over I give them the option to get it on their own.
We usually go the chocolate candy bar route because that's mine and DH's fav :-) Milky Way, Twix... We start out with 2, then traffic gets heavy and I get nervous so we only do one, and then towards then end we're usually back to 2!
I go back and forth with the let kids pick 2 out of the bowl vs me putting 2 in their bags. It just bugs me when the older kids take a handful even though I said pick 2...
Chocolate candy bar stuff...all the stuff I like to eat. I just picked ours up yesterday and got an assortment of snickers, twix, m&ms, milky ways, and reeses. MMM, hopefully we give most of it out so I won't be too tempted. I usually let the kids pick 2 apiece unless its a large grp of older kids and I will usually just put 2 each in their bags.
I've got GD this year, so I bought candy that DH likes but that doesn't tempt me (so no chocolate). Most of the candy was actually bought for crafting class purposes and what is leftover will go to the trick or treaters. But we also give away Happy Meal toys from the previous year. Kids can either choose a toy or a candy. Amazingly, the toys usually go first.
I tried to buy candy that I didn't like last year, and DH went out and bought a huge bag of chocolate bars (snickers, etc) because he said my candy sucked! So...this year I got some chocolate and some little tootsie pops. I figured those would be good bribes for DD if we have leftovers. We give out 2-3, and I like to put it in their bag.
We buy one big bag of assorted chocolate candy from Sam's club every Halloween and give that out. I always pick out 2 or 3 pieces and drop them into their bags for them. Towards the end of the evening I give out a little more so that we don't have so much chocolate left over in the house.
I just picked up candy today... and before I even left the parking lot I was digging into the Twizzlers. I got Twizzlers, Reese's, Kit Kat, Hershey w/almonds and M&Ms.
I am the crappy house. I usually give out Goldfish bags or chips. No candy is being given out from my house. This year we will be doing goldfish, fruit snacks and chips.
