Shower Attire

Okay, so I thought I had it all figured out on what I was going to wear for my shower. Now that it's next weekend I've gone into panic mode and don't want to wear the dress I originally planned to wear. I have no idea what to wear anymore. My best friend told me I need to wear some color so the photos turn out great. I am a grey, black and white girl - solids, no patterns. That's just me. But I was thinking about finding a black dress that's tight around my belly and maybe a pink cardigan with some cute jewelry or something. Ugh .. I don't know..

What is everyone wearing to their shower or what DID you wear to your shower? I know this topic has come up a lot but I just want to see updates.

You don't need to wear color for the photos to turn out well, wear whatever you are comfortable in and think you look good in. I wore a purple dress with tall boots to one shower and wore jeans and a tan/gold sweater to another ( that's what I wore 2 years ago)

I wore dresses to my showers. Once was a red polka dot sundress which I wore with a white cardigan over it, and the other was a purple wrap dress with a geometric (sort-of) print. There are a couple pics of it in my blog. I like to dress up for showers, personally, but it's definitely not necessary. I think your black dress with a pink cardigan idea sounds nice.

I thought I had an outfit planned out but now I really have no idea what I'm going to want to wear. My shower is at my dad's house so I can pretty much wear anything from jeans to a nice dress so I think I'll just decide the day of depending on my mood & the weather.

I have some super comfy dress pants that I think I'm gonna wear with this blouse I bought recently at Motherhood that I love. I've changed my mind 100 times though so we'll see... that's just today's idea

Im usually a black/white/gray girl myself, but I went out on a limb and picked a really cute deep red sweater tunic/dress with black leggings. Now I just have to figure out what shoes to wear with it.

Wow. I was so busy panicking about other stuff that I hadn't even given that one thought yet... uh oh.

I say your nice black dress and pink cardi idea sounds great. If it is warm enough, I might steal that idea for myself! I am one who also wears only black, grey, and sometimes brown, and pretty much solids, no prints... I mostly rely on jewelry to make my outfits interesting.

good question, i am wondering what i am going to wear too. I have black slacks & a black top. this is my one and only & I didnt want to buy a lot of stuff. I had to but that bc we went to a musical. I think I am going to wear that but go and buy me some jewelry to make it pop!

My first shower was a work suprise shower (thought I was meeting people for drinks and apps), so I had on dark skinny jeans, healed boots, a black embellished shirt and gray cardigan. For my planned shower with DH family, I wore a black wrap dress with a white tank under it (otherwise way too much cleavage) and black peep toe pumps. My last shower with my fam will be a suprise, so I just try to look put together whenever I go out. I don't think it matters what color you wear as long as its flattering to you and your complexion.

The black dress with a pink cartigan sound cute to me. Target actually has some cute black maternity dresses : ) My last shower was in July so I wore black capri's with a cream spaghetti strap chiffon top with black beading.

You could also find a black skirt and wear a colored sweater or top with that?

If you don't like a lot of color, don't go with color just because your friend recommends it. IMO pictures look best when you are wearing something that is your style and makes you comfortable. I think a black dress with a pink cardigan would be cute, though.

Also I have a picture from my shower in the bump day thread. I wore a wine colored dress with a black bolero jacket and gray tights.

It's low though, so I am trying to figure out what kind of cami to wear under it-I'm thinking probably brown so it's more fall ish. (it is still really warm around here. my shower is Nov. 6th.)

I'm going to wear this from Ann Taylor Loft Maternity and dress it up with some cute jewelry. I wantto find some cute shoes or boots to go with it. I also plan to wear it again for a wedding at the end of Nov and even Christmas. I'll just change the look a bit.

This is excatly what I am wearing color and all. I got my sweater dress from Express though because it fits me better then maternity clothes. I am also wearing a black slouchy boot with it.

I recently tried on a bunch of dresses but they did not make me feel pretty at all! I am going with slacks and I may try to make it special by finding an embellished top instead of my solid tees I have been wearing.
