Our local daycare's have a wait list until next year. I am starting to look into a babysitter/nanny instead of a daycare. I didn't know if this was to early to start the process or if its an earlier the better type thing.

When do you plan to start the process?

I started a few months ago. Doing research on what was out there and how much. We started going on tours about three weeks ago and just saw our third place yesterday. I think it's good to start early because it's an emotional process, at least it has been for me. It's a big decision.

I'm not in need of daycare, but I use to be in management in daycare, and defininitely start looking now! In home daycare centers fill up quickly as well. Even if you do the nanny route, I would start looking now. Best to have it all lined up and squared away so you don't have to worry about it later!

Good idea to start looking now at all your options. I had DD's nanny lined up before she was born and then did a few "practice runs" while I was on maternity leave to make sure all went well. I was really glad I did it early on, since it was much less stressful.

I knew I wanted to go with an in home provider so we made calls right away (I was 8 or 9 weeks) and we just made a decision last week so they can hold our spot.

I started looking at about 15w pregnant last time, saw the prices, and stuck my head in the sand. I resumed my search when she was 3 months old (2.5 months before I needed daycare). We got lucky to find such a great place.
