Cupcake baker / bakery recommendation?

My mother and I were discussing my baby shower today and she wants to do cupcakes or pastries for the "dessert" instead of a cake. We were looking online at Servatis Buskin and Bonbonerie and $2.50+ a cupcake is a bit ridiculous.

Does anyone know a good baker or bakery that does them for about half that and will actually decorate them, not just frosting and sprinkles?
