what do you do to make sure you don't gain extra weight during the next few months with all these delicious holidays?!
I usually count my daily caloric intake and save a few calories for sweets and exercise a little bit more before the actual holidays since around and on them I know it won't happen.
Re: post your anti-weight gaining tips for the holidays here...
I basically do what you do, and also I have a pretty good idea of the calorie count in almost everything so I can guesstimate somewhat accurately, and pick and choose lower calorie items.
Plus we all know to attack the shrimp cocktail without guilt, and to avoid the spinach artichoke dip.
I wrote about what I do during the holidays in my blog last year. Here is the link to the post.

My number one in the holiday aresenal is:
"NO GUILT----for saying no to food!!!!"
just stick to your guns....when people at work have another party, or your MIL shoves food at you just insist you don't want it. I finally got over feeling guilty about turning people down and I don't gain weight over the holidays anymore.
visualize how hard you have to work out (or how many minutes on the treadmill) it takes to burn the calories in that cookie. It works!!!
don't get me wrong.. I make apple and pumpkin pies and cakes with whiskey frosting, cookies, almond pastries, sweet potato and squash casseroles.....but I substitute with egg whites, half the butter, half soy half water for dairy, applesauce, etc.
